Steady: At Home in Your Body
Steady is a six-month, one-on-one program with Dr. Jada MacLeod, ND, a naturopath for stress and burnout, that brings together metabolic health and nervous system regulation. For women who are ready for a deeper kind of care, where your body chemistry and your body’s sense of safety are supported together.
Does this sound familiar?
You've tried to fix it piece by piece
- You feel wired but tired, anxious, or close to burnout
- Your energy crashes, cravings pull at you, and your blood sugar feels like a rollercoaster
- Your sleep is light, and your body feels on edge more often than not
- Midlife and perimenopause changes have made everything feel harder to manage
- You’ve changed how you eat, taken the supplements, maybe had labs done, and still don’t feel like yourself
- Stress seems to land in your body: your gut, your cravings, your sleep, your shoulders
- You sense that past experiences or long seasons of stress are still affecting your health

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a gentle, body-based approach that helps the nervous system release stress and return to a more settled state. Sessions involve noticing sensations in the body, at a pace that feels manageable.
Do I need to talk about difficult past experiences?
No. SE works with how your body is responding now. You’re always in charge of what you share, and we go at your pace. This is not therapy and Dr. Jada MacLeod will refer you for co-treatment with a therapist if needed.
How often are visits?
After your 75-minute initial visit, follow-ups are 60 minutes, about every 3 weeks. That’s roughly eight visits over six months, adjusted to your needs.
Do I need to live in Ottawa?
No. Virtual visits are available anywhere in Ontario. Naturopathic care and Somatic Experiencing both work well online. Acupuncture and energy work are available at in-person visits at Healing House in Ottawa.
Is Steady a good fit during perimenopause?
Many women come to Steady in midlife, when stress, sleep, energy and blood sugar changes often show up together. Your plan takes your stage of life and hormonal changes into account.
Why six months?
Lasting change in both metabolism and the nervous system takes time. Six months gives us room to set up your foundations, do the deeper nervous system work, and help you integrate it into daily life.
Is this covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover naturopathic visits. Check with your provider to confirm your coverage.
